Croatia is a country in Eastern Europe which was formed after gaining it's independence from the former Yugoslav state. It was recognised as an independent country in 1992. It has a population of around 5 million inhabitants. The capital is Zagreb, and the country borders the Adriatic sea to it's west, Slovenia and Hungary to the north and Bosnia and serbia to the south.



To get to Croatia by plane there are several airports located across the country. The major airport that serves Croatia is Zagreb-Pleso International Airport, situated about 15km out of the city centre. From the airport it usually takes around 25 minutes to get into Zagreb.
